Who will meet with a Gestational Carrier or Mom-to-be during a MFM appointment?
- The Gestational Carrier or Mom-to-be will meet with a board certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician.
- Reports are typically sent and/or ready for review in The Workbench within 2 business days after the appointment.
- Currently the fee for Gestational Carrier Screening is $595. Discounts are available through The Workbench.
- Mitera does not accept insurance. We are happy to list the ICD and CPT codes on the invoice upon request for patients who wish to submit for potential reimbursement from their health insurance.
- In general, payment is due 24 hours prior to the appointment. However, for our the Workbench users we have options that allow payment to be made after the appointment or on a monthly basis.
- Mitera is telehealth only.
- Mitera Workbench users can easily schedule appointments on the The Workbench
- Appointments can also be scheduled by anyone on our website Appointments for site visitors
- Partners can cancel and reschedule appointments directly through The Workbench.
- For Appointments made outside of the Workbench, please email Hello@MiteraPerinatal.com to communicate any appointment change needs.
- The instruction for attending the appointment will be in the confirmation and reminder email & texts. They must follow the appointment instructions as per the confirmation and reminders.
- Mitera works with a licensed medical translation company. Please let us know your patient will need a translator and we will arrange one. The fee is $150.
- No, for liability purposes, we will only use a certified medical translator.
- You can set the time zone for the patient when scheduling. If this is selected, the confirmation email will be displayed in the patient’s time zone. If not, appointments default to Pacific Time.
- There is currently a fee of $350 to review records sent after the appointment is complete. If you would like the patient to meet with the physician again, a follow-up appointment fee is currently $545.

Intended Parents

Can the Intended Parent(IP) set up a meeting to get help/clarification on any concerns
- Yes. IP follow-up appointments may be scheduled in The Workbench, on our website Appointments for site visitors or with Mitera staff by emailing Hello@miteraperinatal.com to ensure the Intended Parents are scheduled with the same physician who met with their gestational carrier.
Medical Records Collection
Does Mitera provide medical records collection? How long does the service take?

- Yes, we now offer medical records collection which can take as little as 8 days. However, often times we have medical records collected within 2 weeks.
What is the fee for medical records collection?
- The fee for medical records collection is $350.
How do I request Medical Records Collection?
- You may request Medical Records Collection on The Workbench.
MFM Reports
How long after the MFM appointment will the report be ready?

- Reports are typically sent and/or ready for review in The Workbench within 2 business days after the appointment.
How long is a report good for (does it expire)?

- This answer may vary however, the rule of thumb is typically 6 months. If there are any medical events or new records available, the Gestational Carrier may be required to be seen again by one of our Maternal-fetal medicine physicians.
What if the Agency has questions about the MFM report after they receive it?

- Questions can be sent to Hello@MiteraPerinatal.com. Mitera is happy to answer any clarifying questions an Agency may have. Support staff can also relay questions to MFM physicians who provided the report as necessary.
How do we request an amendment to a report?

- If you need patient demographic information amended on a report, please email Hello@MiteraPerinatal.com. We may require documentation to support the requested amendment. If you are looking for a clinical amendment, please email us with what you would like amended and why, the physician will determine if they can amend the report. This may require additional documentation or require a follow-up appointment. Fees may apply if additional records that were not previously provided during the original MFM appointment needs to be reviewed or if a follow-up appointment is required.
What if the Intended Parents (IP) have questions about the report?

- If the IP’s have questions regarding the report, they can schedule an IP follow-up appointment. This appointment will be scheduled with the same physician that met with their gestational carrier. Currently the fee for an IP follow-up is $545.
What if we find additional records after the appointment that we would like the physician to review and update the report with?
- There is currently a fee of $350 to review records sent after the appointment is complete. If you would like the patient to meet with the physician again, a follow-up appointment fee is currently $545.

Does Mitera offer Psychological Evaluations?
- Yes! We have recently added Psychological Evaluations for a one-stop shop experience
- How may we schedule a Psychological Evaluation with Mitera?
- Only Mitera Workbench users may schedule Psychological Evaluations appointments with us. Register or login to the The Workbench to book an appointment.
